Overview of TOC equipment
In the course of preparation of ultrapure water, degradation of the TOC (total organic carbon) is of essential importance. The UV-185nm low-pressure high-energy UV technology, when adopted in combination with UV-254 ultraviolet sterilizer, can, by way of high dosage of UV-1 85nm UV catalysis, generate the hydroxyl radicals in the water to oxidate and degrade the organic substance in the water and reduce the TOC content in the water.
 
Working principle for UV to remove TOC
In the high-purity water system, the UV equipment is often connected with the ion exchanger to reduce the trace organic substance in the water, named TOC (total organic carbon). The high-energy UV lamps emit the UV light (1 85nm) of wavelength below 200nm, which can excite the photolysis of water and generate the hydroxide ion (OH) high super-high energy. Generally, this system can reduce the TOC of tap water or underground water sources to 1 .5ppb and lower, reaching the standard for high-purity water.
