Urban Ultraviolet UV Water Sterilizer For Waste Water Treatment Plant

Urban Ultraviolet UV Water Sterilizer for Waste Water Treatment Plant

UV sterilizers utilize UV germicidal lamps which emit UV-C wavelength at 253.7nm lethal to bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms present in the water. Ultraviolet technology has been one of the most effective methods of water treatment and air purification, without using any chemicals.
 The inside wall of our stainless steel chambers are polished, which can help improve the efficiency of disinfection. They can kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, and give you healthy water.
 UV Water Sterilizers are mainly used in drinking water, running water, water supply and so on, of which with small capacities are applied in homes, offices, schools, etc. Those with larger capacities are for water treatment plants, water recycling systems, aquariums, food plants, and beverages plants, etc.

How Does UV Sterilisation Work?

UV sterilizers utilize germicidal ultraviolet lamps that produce short wave radiation lethal to bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms present in water. Ultraviolet water treatment purification is a unique and rapid method of water disinfection without the use of heat or chemicals. Through the years ultraviolet technology has become well established as a method of choice for effective and economical water disinfection.

What Contaminants Do UV Sterilizers Remove?

There are no micro-organisms known to be resistant to UV, unlike chlorination. UV is known to be highly effective against bacteria, viruses, algae, molds and yeasts, and disease causing oocysts like cryptosporidium and giardia. In practice, bacteria and viruses are the cause of most major waterborne pathogenic diseases. Of these enteric viruses, hepatitis virus and Legionella pneumophila have been shown to survive for considerable periods in the presence of chlorine, but are readily eliminated by UV treatment. For most microorganisms, the removal efficiency of UV for microbiological contaminants such as bacteria and virus generally exceeds 99.99%.

Applications
UV disinfection is an effective, safe, and economical treatment method currently used world-wide in various industries, from municipal water treatment plants to private businesses, and industrial plants. Below are the potential applications of the UV systems:

 1. Mineral water production
 2. Wastewater: municipal sewage, hospitals, industrial plants, oil-fields;
 3. Drinking water: tap water, office buildings, surface water (well, lake, river);
 4. Technical water: food and beverage production, electronics, cosmetics, etc.);
 5. Water recycling: swimming pools, fountains, landscape design, cooling towers;
 6. Aquariums and fisheries;
 7. Irrigation in agriculture and hydroponics;
 8. Decomposition of TOC, ozone, chlorine residuals, and chloramines;
 9. Disinfection of thick liquids:protein solutions, syrops, juice concentrates;
 10. Mobile treatment for army, field camps, ships, airplanes, etc.

FAQ:

Is UV 100% effective?

UV disinfection typically offers a 99.99% reduction in both bacteria and virus and is more effective than chemical disinfection processes at destroying viruses.

Does UV remove E. coli?

Yes, E. coli requires a UV dose of between 6 to 12 mJ/cm2 to achieve 4-log disinfection. This is well within the capabilities of the Sterilight UV system.

How much does it cost to operate? UV systems are extremely economical to operate.

A typical household UV system operates on the same power requirements as a 40 watt light bulb!

Will UV change the taste or smell of my water?

UV is a physical disinfection process, no additives are required. It does not change the taste or odour of the water. It simply provides safe reliable disinfection.

How do I know the system is working?

All UV systems come with "lamp-out" monitors which give an audible and visual signal in case of lamp failure. Sterilight GOLD systems incorporate true UV intensity monitors so an alarm will sound if the disinfection effectiveness falls below a safe level.

Why do I need Disinfection?

Disinfection is required on all water supplies that are not protected by a municipal water source. Due to the uncertainties that exist within some water systems, we can no longer rely on the fact that our water supplies "may be safe." By providing your own disinfection, you are taking the responsibility of ensuring the safety of the water supply for you and your family.
