Overview
Multi-media filter using one or several filter media makes water of high turbidity flow through agranular ornon-agranular material of a certain thickness under a certain pressure, thereby effectively removing suspended impurities in the water and clarifying the water. The commonly used filter materials including quartz, anthracite and manganese sand, etc, are mainly used for turbidity removal of water treatment, water softening and pretreatment of pure water in preceding stages and outflow turbidity can be below 3 degrees. The filter is mainly used for reverse osmosis, electrodialysis, ion exchange as well as softening and demineralization system pretreatment and can also be used as coarse filtration of industry water supply with undemanding water quality, circulating cooling water, reuse water treatment of wastewater and recycled water, etc.

Application
Mechanical Filter (Alao called pressure filter ), It's very important procedure in pure water pretreatment and water purify system.
In water treatment field, filtration is a kind of water purifying process.Mostly filter medias are silica
sand (widely use),anthracite and so on. Filter medias include three type:granular, powdery and fibroid. Silica sand,anthracite, activated carbon, megnetite,ceramic, plastic ball, ect.
According to actual demands, some multi media filter (filter bed) will use two kinds of media layers. In industrial water recycling system, can effectively remove impurity,absorb oil ect, at last to reach
water recycling standard. Mainly functions are remove suspended or colloidal impurity, especially
effectively remove small particle and bacterium, also can remove BODs and COD in certain level.
Filter:
When the system is in a filtered State, the water flow through the water distributor which was unallowed,comply with shell,the water flow through the filter layer at the horizontal - flow state,as the water flowthe filter material layer, impurities are trapped within the filter layer,The filtered water is collected and evenly through water outflow,flowing parallel,at the high speed ,the filter could work well,and it can reach better effect too.
Backwash
With the continued accumulation of impurities in filter material layers, increasing loss of head,as the loss of head reaches a certain set limit, system will automatically be converted to the anti - washing, cleaning accumulation of impurities,
Backwashing happens at the differential pressure reaches 0. 05-0. 07Mpa,each time.and while the backwashing is over the differential pressure will back to 0.02-0.03Mpa.
