Frame-mounted Water Softener For Steam Boiler Water
1. Water softener filter
Through softening, the calcium and magnesium salts in the water are exchanged for sodium salts which do not cause the disadvantages of hard water. The method is used in industries and institutions for treatment of water for steam boiler plants and district heating plants, laundries, cooling towers, rinse processes, washing, dishwashing, etc.
Individual solutions
The broad program makes it possible to choose the optimum plant for the project whether the need is continuous or discontinuous water supply.
Plant design
Flow rates for standard modules: Up to 150 m³/h per unit. The plants are produced as one-tank plants and multi-tank plants as well as cold water plants and hot water plants. The filter tanks are made of steel and coated with polyethylene. Each plant is supplied with a control unit adapted to the job. The plant can either be timer controlled or meter controlled. Meter control gives the best average water quality and economy.
Frame-mounted plants ensure safe and quick installation
Several of the two-tank plants can as standard be delivered as a unit in which tanks, pipe system, and controls are built together and mounted on a frame. The concept "Plug & Play" ensures a safe and quick installation.
Hot water plants
Several of our plant series can treat hot water up to 85°C. Filtertank, nozzle system, and the 5-cycle valve are designed specially for this purpose. The construction makes the plants suitable for sanitary installations.
Brine tank - brinemaker
The brine tanks are made of breach proof polyethylene and are esy to fill and clean. The brine maker can be added to several of the plant series and is delivered as standard with the STFA plant.
Industrial Water Softening Process Theory
Our Engineering water softeners utilize hydraulic or pneumatic valves, which feature a co-
current regeneration sequence based upon elementary principles of iron exchange. Initially,
strong acid cation resin in the sodium (Na +1) form is placed into service. During the
sodium cation exchange water softening process, sodium ions are exchanged for undesirable
quantities of calcium (Ca +2), magnesium (Mg +2), and iron (Fe +2). Sodium ions already
present in the water being softened pass through the process unchanged. Upon exhaustion of
the resin (as indicated by unacceptable hardness leakage), a regeneration sequence
involving sodium chloride (NaCl) is utilized. The generation sequence reverses the above
process and converts the strong acid cation resin back to the sodium form for the
subsequent water softening cycle. Capacities range from 20,000 to 30,000 grains per cubic
foot depending upon the total dissolved solids content of the water, the effluent water
quality desired, and the amount of sodium chloride regenerant used. It should be noted that
although the water is softened, the total dissolved solids content remains unchanged.
Further, the effluent contains the same amount of anions as the raw water. The equipment is
co-currently operated (down-flow exhausted; down-flow regenerated). All models have five
distinct cycles of operation:Service - softening process; down-flowBackwash - hydraulic
cleaning; up-flowBrine inject - restores resin to sodium form; down-flowSlow rinse -
displaces residual brine; down-flowFast flush - prepares softening resin for service
cycle; down-flow.
Typical Industrial Water Softener Applications
Dairies, schools, factories, hospitals, laundries, car washes, nursing homes, boiler feed
water, food industry plants, municipal water works, apartments and condominiums, motels,
hotels, resorts, manufacturing facilities, institutional facilities, office complexes,
cooling towers, farmseach could benefit from the installation of Engineering
water softener. The system quickly begins paying for itself through reduced energy
consumption, extended water appliance life, and lower plumbing repairs. Water heaters and boilers will last longer; costly special chemicals for boilers and steam handling equipment can be greatly reduced; the service life of linens, clothing, fixtures and appliances will be noticeably extended; and process water will be more consistent and efficient.
Control mode of fully automatic water softener
(
1) Single tank time type: It adopts microcomputer to control the time, when operation of the equipment reaches setting time, it will automatically enter the regeneration condition, which can be regenerated for once a day or once for some day.
(2) Single tank flow type: It adopts control of turbine flow or electronic flow sensor, when the yield of softener reaches preset flow it will automatically enter the regeneration condition, which can be recycled many times every day.
(3) Double tanks flow type: Which could be divided into one running-one alternating, and simultaneous running and separately regeneration.
(4) One running and the other alternation type: One tank is running while the other is alternating, when water yield of operating tank reaches the preset flow rate, it will enter the regeneration stage, meanwhile, the other tank will enter the working state, these two tanks work and regenerate alternatively to realize continuous water supplying of 24 hours.
(5) Simultaneous running and separately regeneration type: Two cans running simultaneously, when the flow rate reaches the setting rate, one tank (can) will regenerate and the other tank will output water continuously, when the first regeneration tank finish the regeneration it will enter the working stage, the other one will enter regeneration stage, these two cans finish regeneration and enter working state simultaneously.
