General Information
Hydro cyclone Separators are effective in removing suspended particles from any flow stream of water where the specific gravity (density) of the particle(s) is heavier than the water it is in; the more significant the difference in the gravity between the water and the particle, the greater the efficiency of the removal process. Depending on the specific gravity of the particle and the viscosity of the flow stream, very small and denser particles can be removed. NOTE: Particulate removal can be enhanced if multiple passes of the stream can be achieved.
Consider a separator's use where any source of water contains containments with a weight of 2.6 specific gravity or higher, such as well water to remove sand. Separators are also excellent for use as a pre-removal device for filters with river or ditch water that contain high levels of sand or other large organic debris.
Applications would include, but not be limited to, wells, industrial processes, water recycling and reuse, river and ditch water intake systems, food processing nozzle systems and irrigation water.
An automatic purge controller and valve can be used on all applications. This eliminates the need for manual flushing, turning the separator into an automatic system.
Small separators can be wall mounted, hung on the main piping, or placed on legs if desired.
Working principle
Cyclone sand separator makes use of centrifugal separating to remove sand,as the water inlet pipe is installed at the eccentric of the housing ,when the water flows into the cyclone sand separator through water inlet pipe,first it flow through the tangent line around the housing to form a flowing obliquely downward.the flowing water will revolve and flow downwards,when the flowing liquid reach the circular cone it will swirl around the axis ,then it flows out of the sand separator ,the impurities and pollutant will fall off from the inside surface onto the sand bucket under the action of inertial centrifugal force and its own gravity,there is a structure at the bottom of circular cone to prevent the pollutant to be ascending,when the impurities accumulated in the bucket reach the max capacity,just needs to open the manual butterfly valve,the impurities will flow out of the cyclone sand separator under the action of flowing water.
Cyclone sand separator is designed on the principle of centrifugal subsidence and density difference, when the flowing water flows into the separator through the water inlet under certain pressure,it will generate strong swirling movement,as the density difference between sand and water, under the integrated action of centrifugal force,centripetal force,buoyant and drag force,the lower density water will go up and flow out from water outlet,the higher density sand particles will be discharged out from drain outlet,which realize the function of sand separation.

Installation instruction
1. Cyclone separator should be installed at the main water pipe of water supplying pipe net,also it must be fixed onto the foundation support.
2. In order to ensure stable water output, one section of straight pipe with same diameter as the connection pipe should be installed before the water inlet,the length of this straight pipe should be as 10 to 15 times as diameter of water inlet pipe.
3. There should be sufficient space for maintenance around the separator.
4. during normal working, valve for water inlet and water outlet should be open ,and drain valve and bypass valve should be closed.
5.to discharge the sand regularly according to the sand content in raw water,to open the drain valve during drain blow-down till the clean water flow out,the drain process will not affect the normal water output.
6. After the drain is finished,drain valve should be closed.
