Small UV Water Filter System for Drinking Water Disinfection

Working principle:
The device adopts a special high strength non ozone ultraviolet sterilizing lamp and stainless steel barrel body odor whose inner wall specially treated by micro carbon martensite, outer side of the barrel body with a special polishing processing, then the pretreated water flows in the tube, it will receive enough line volume of ultraviolet irradiation 253.7nm, which shows excellent germicidal efficacy, but also effectively reduces the influence on ultra pure water.

Limitation of Use
The UV water disinfection system NOT intended for the treatment of water that has an obvious contamination or intentional source, such as raw sewage, nor is the unit intended to convert wastewater to microbiologically safe drinking water.

Water Quality (in)
Water quality plays a major role in the transmission of germicidal UV rays. It is recommended that the water does not exceed following maximum concentration levels
Small UV Water Filter System for Drinking Water Disinfection
Maximum Concentration Levels (Very Important)
Iron≤ 0.3ppm(0.3mg/L)
Hardness≤ 7gpg(120mg/L)
Turbidity≤ 1NTU
Manganese≤ 0.05ppm(0.05mg/L)
Tannins≤ 0.1ppm(0.3mg/L)
UV Transmittance≥ 750‰

Effectively treating water with higher concentration levels than listed above can be accomplished, but may require added measures to improve water quality to treatable levels. If, for any reason, it is believed the UV transmission is not satisfactory, contact the factory.
UV wavelength (nm)

DOSAGE is the product of intensity & time
Dosage=intensity*time=micro watt/cm2*time=microwatt-seconds per square centimeter
(μ W-s/cm2)
Note: 1000μ W-s/cm2=1mj/cm2(milli-joule/cm2)

As a general guideline, the following are some typical UV transmission rates (UVT)
City water supplies850-980‰
De-ionized or Reverse Osmosis water950-980‰
Surface waters(lakes, rivers, etc)700-900‰

FAQ:

Who needs an Ultra Violet water treatment system?
Everyone. Yes, everyone who is on tank water should have some sort of water treatment that removes or sterilizes bacteria in their tank water. One day soon this will be compulsory and for good reason. At the moment it is a recommendation on each new house built.

Do I treat the whole house or just one tap?
We recommend using UV for whole house treatment. If you where after a single tap solution we recommend you see our E-coli Eliminator system as this is the best for single tap use on tank water. We can do Ultra Violet systems for single tap use but prefer not to.

Why not use chlorine?
Many people object to the taste and smell of chlorinated water. But more importantly, chlorine reacts with certain compounds that may be present in the water supply, resulting in by-products that have been linked to cancer (such as trihalomethanes, or THM's). UV light does not produce harmful chemicals in drinking water. It's safe, effective and environmentally friendly.

Is pre-treatment of my water required for a UV system to work?
Yes normally two filters are required a 1 & 20 micron filter. They should be installed upstream of any UV system so as to eliminate any particles large enough to block the UV light. The UV system should always be installed downstream of any other water treatment equipment. Ultimately, the quality of your water will determine if additional pre-treatment is required.
